I wanted a profession of helping others. The more I learned, the better I understood some of the deep hurts people suffer and the long-term problems these can cause. I am a big believer in growth and a better future. I have worked in several areas, including intense mental health work and substance abuse treatment. Each job, co-worker, and client has helped me become a better professional. I mostly use a combination of cognitive behavioral therapy, acceptance and commitment therapy, and trauma-informed care in the work I do. Jennifer Owen

I have earned a CSWA, and I am board certified to practice as a mental health therapist in the state of Oregon. Through genuine expression in a space of acceptance, I hope to work with my clients to achieve their goals. I meet my clients where they are and use evidence-based interventions to help regulate difficult emotions, heal from painful experiences, develop productive coping skills, as well as exploring underlying causes for behavioral patterns that add to life’s challenges.

I value the human experience and believe, at some level, every individual has an intuitive sense of who and how they want to be in the world. Sometimes it’s difficult to access this knowledge due to trauma, difficult life experiences, and the day-to-day challenges. My goal, as a therapist, is to collaborate with the individual to explore thoughts, beliefs, feelings, and patterns that may act as a barrier to living a life self-authenticity. I have a holistic perspective that incorporates the body, mind, and spirit in the healing process.
